Job summary

Solstice Advanced Materials seeks a Lead Estimator to develop accurate cost estimates for capital, manufacturing, and construction projects across the company’s network. The role may be based in Baton Rouge, Geismar, Colonial Heights, Houston, or nearby, reporting to the Senior PP&C Manager.

The Lead Estimator drives estimating strategy, analyzes vendor data, and coordinates with PM, engineering, and procurement teams to deliver Class 3 to Class 4 estimates, while mentoring junior staff and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related technical/business field with 8-10 years of experience
Willingness to travel up to 25%, as required
U.S. export control compliance: must be a U.S. person (citizen, permanent resident, or protected status)

Responsibilities

Lead estimating through Pre-FEED, FEED, detailed design, construction support, and startup/commissioning phases
Collaborate with project management, engineering, procurement, and finance to align estimates with scope and market conditions
Support Project Managers with schedules, milestones, and end-date forecasts
Review drawings, specifications, contracts, RFPs, and owner-provided docs
Develop comprehensive cost estimates from quantity takeoffs across civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines
Apply construction means and methods to create realistic, scope-specific estimates
Mentor and coach estimators and junior team members
