Job summary

M/I Homes is seeking a Land Acquisition Manager to identify, evaluate, negotiate, and secure land opportunities supporting our growth across Indiana markets. You will oversee the acquisition process from initial identification through closing, ensuring alignment with financial and market targets.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years in real estate acquisitions, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and a valid driver’s license. This is an on-site role with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, real estate, or civil engineering required.
• 3-5 years of real estate acquisitions experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains relationships with landowners, brokers, developers, and municipalities.
• Sources and acquires land for Indiana market communities including finished lots and off-market opportunities.
• Negotiate purchase price, terms, contingencies, deposits, closing dates, and other provisions.
• Prepare land acquisition packages for presentation and approvals, coordinating with senior leaders.
• Perform underwriting, initial analysis, and LOI generation for potential deals.
• Manage transaction details like deadlines, contingencies, deposits, and closing requirements.
• Assist in entitlements and resolve transaction issues with legal and title teams.
• Maintain builder/developer contacts and CMA analysis with Land Manager of Data Analytics.
