Snohomish County is seeking a seasoned Labor Relations professional to lead complex negotiations, analyze wage and benefits language, and advise managers on labor laws. The role emphasizes equity, social justice, and building a culture of inclusion across departments.

The position involves representing the County in arbitration and grievance matters, coordinating with the HR team, and ensuring policy compliance.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in business, public administration or related field and 6+ years in negotiation, labor relations, or related areas; or an equivalent combination.

Responsabilidades

• Negotiate collective bargaining agreements and represent the County in mediation/arbitration.
• Research statutes and precedents affecting collective bargaining and analyze agreements and decisions.
• Analyze language for compliance and develop management proposals and strategies.
• Coordinate development of proposals with HR staff and department managers.
• Provide guidance to managers on labor laws, policies, and guidelines.
• Prepare records of bargaining sessions, letters, reports, and other documents.
• Present information and testify in arbitration, grievance hearings, and administrative proceedings.
• May serve as designee for the County Executive in grievance procedures.
• Develop and maintain relationships across departments to support HR strategy and inclusion.
• Advance equity and social justice related to labor relations.
• Build strategic relationships and participate in committees and task forces.
• Supervise or coordinate subordinate staff or project teams as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of records and oversee records control.
