Job summary

Jefferson County, Colorado is seeking a Labor Relations Specialist to act as a strategic advisor to leadership and HR on labor and employee relations matters. The role focuses on fostering positive labor-management relationships, ensuring compliance with labor laws and CBAs, and guiding workplace issues and dispute resolution.

The LTE position (Limited Term Employee) has a maximum duration of two years, with potential conversion based on business needs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in labor relations, employee relations, or a related field.
• Experience supporting collective bargaining environments.
• Experience managing grievances, investigations, and dispute resolution processes.
• Experience advising leaders on labor and employment matters.

Responsibilities

• Labor Relations Strategy: Advise leaders and HR partners on labor relations policies, practices, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Collective Bargaining Support: Prepare for and participate in collective bargaining negotiations.
• Grievance and Dispute Resolution: Investigate employee complaints, grievances, and labor disputes.
• Contract Administration: Interpret and administer collective bargaining agreements.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
• Leadership and Employee Support: Coach leaders on employee relations and labor-management practices.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership.
• Other duties as assigned.
