Job summary

Moss, Fort Lauderdale, FL, seeks an experienced Labor & Employment Counsel to join our Legal team as the primary advisor on employment and labor matters across the organization. This role partners with HR to align policies with business needs and mitigate risk.

You will handle employee relations, wage and hour compliance, investigations, and outside counsel management while developing proactive labor strategies and training for HR and management.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing in at least one state bar.
• Significant experience practicing management-side labor and employment law.
• Experience with a national management-side labor and employment law firm strongly preferred.
• Experience advising on counseling and labor relations matters.
• Knowledge of federal and state labor and employment laws.
• Experience managing employment litigation with external counsel.
• Ability to influence business decisions with practical legal advice.
• Experience partnering with HR on workplace law and risk prevention.
• Experience delivering training for HR and managers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary legal advisor on all labor and employment matters across the organization.
• Provide practical, timely legal counsel on a broad range of employment law issues.
• Advise on labor relations matters, including union-related strategy and grievances.
• Develop proactive labor strategies to maintain a union-free environment.
• Partner with HR and HR Compliance to ensure compliant employment practices.
• Oversee internal investigations and advise on remediation.
• Support responses to administrative charges, litigation, and agency matters.
• Manage outside counsel on employment and labor matters with cost-effective outcomes.
• Draft and review employment-related policies, agreements, and training materials.
• Deliver training for HR teams, managers, and business leaders on labor law topics.
• Monitor changes in laws and translate into actionable guidance.
