Job summary

San Francisco Department of Public Health is seeking an impact-driven Director of Labor and Employee Relations to lead labor strategy, negotiations, and labor-management relations across the department. Reporting to the CHRO, you will oversee major bargaining, grievance administration, and program-wide workforce priorities to deliver durable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, AND five (5) years of professional human resources experience, of which at least three (3) years must include labor relations.

Responsibilities

• Drive labor strategy and major negotiations, representing DPH in Citywide collective bargaining.
• Direct collective bargaining agreement administration and employee relations, including grievances, discipline, investigations, and performance.
• Advance department-wide workforce priorities and guide executives through consequential labor matters.
• Strengthen labor partnerships with labor partners to resolve issues and achieve durable outcomes.
• Transform information into organizational performance by using data and trends to drive better results across DPH.
• Develop a high-performing team and manage Managers of Labor Relations and Employee Relations.
