Job summary

General Motors Company seeks a Vendor Management Manager to build and lead Core IT’s vendor management function, ensuring strategic tech suppliers deliver reliable services and measurable value aligned to priorities.

You’ll establish governance, performance measurement, and escalation mechanisms, partnering with Purchasing, Finance, Security, and IT leaders to support effective vendor execution, renewals, and spend alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in IT, business, or related field.
• 10+ years in IT vendor management, sourcing, account management, or IT service management.
• 5+ years in leadership roles managing large IT vendors and governance.
• Experience negotiating with and managing large, complex IT vendors.
• Strong ability to analyze financial, operational, and contractual data.

Responsibilities

• Lead Core IT’s vendor management function and drive performance, governance, and escalations.
• Translate contracts and SOWs into measurable service expectations and metrics.
• Establish vendor governance with regular reviews and executive escalation paths.
• Define scorecards and dashboards to report on service, cost, risk, and value.
• Align vendor deliverables with business priorities and roadmaps.
• Collaborate with Purchasing on sourcing, renewals, and contract changes.
• Lead escalations and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities for vendor optimization and cost/value improvements.
• Build and mentor the vendor management team and remote network of vendor leads.
