Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Vendor Management Manager to build and lead Core IT’s vendor management function, ensuring strategic technology suppliers deliver reliable services aligned to our priorities.

This role establishes governance, performance measurement, and escalation mechanisms, and partners with Purchasing, Finance, Security, and IT leaders to support effective vendor execution, renewals, and spend alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT/business.
• 10+ years IT vendor management experience in a medium to large enterprise.
• 5+ years of leadership experience.
• Experience negotiating with large IT vendors and renewals.
• Ability to analyze financial, operational, and contractual data.
• Strong communication and issue-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Core IT’s vendor management with governance and performance metrics.
• Translate contracts into measurable service expectations and reports.
• Establish vendor governance and escalation paths for improvements.
• Define scorecards and dashboards for service, cost, risk, and value.
• Align vendor deliverables with IT priorities and business goals.
• Collaborate with Purchasing on renewals, negotiations, and changes.
