Job summary

Covington & Burling LLP is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager in Washington, DC. This role leads complex technology projects within the IT PMO, establishing delivery standards, processes, tools, and reporting for the IT organization.

You will partner with senior leadership to plan, organize, and implement technology projects while guiding high-performing teams through the full lifecycle and managing scope, schedule, and budget.

Qualifications

• College degree strongly preferred in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
• Appropriate technical certification(s) preferred (e.g., PMP, CSM, PMI-ACP).
• 10+ years of relevant IT project management experience, ideally in a large law firm or professional services.

Responsibilities

• Defines project scope, goals, and deliverables with senior management and stakeholders.
• Leads high performing project teams and ensures milestones and deliverables are met.
• Communicates complex information to leadership to drive action and alignment.
• Develops budget proposals and forecasts budget changes as needed.
• Manages risks, issues, and blockers throughout the project lifecycle.
