Job summary

The University of Iowa seeks an Informatics Analyst to support clinical informatics initiatives across health care departments. The role emphasizes working with electronic health records, system design translation, and training delivery within a hybrid Iowa work environment.

You will collaborate with IT and clinical staff, develop workflows, test system changes, and provide go-live support while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and quality practices.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a clinical role in a complex health care environment.
• Experience authoring training materials and leading training sessions.
• Excellent communication skills at verbal, written, and presentation levels; ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical staff.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Teams, OneNote).
• Licensure/certification in Iowa or equivalent for clinical profession.

Responsibilities

• Support the clinical community in the adoption and meaningful use of electronic health records.
• Support system development and testing; translate clinical requirements into system design, workflow customization, data collection and testing.
• Provide training, on-the-job demonstrations, and just-in-time technology support in clinical environments.
• Maintain knowledge of current trends and standards in clinical practice and procedures.
• Participate in quality initiatives for safe and effective care delivery.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards for developing and operating application systems and databases.
• Exhibits teamwork and a positive work environment.
• Obtain and maintain Epic certification(s).
• Document project requirements and design decisions.
• Provide one-on-one or small group demonstrations and go-live support.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
• Collect and analyze user feedback and identify enhancements.
• Identify professional development opportunities and encourage continuous learning.
