Job summary

Brown University invites applications for the Associate Director of Information Technology at ICERM. The role oversees IT/technology operations, manages IT staff, and ensures operational security, stability, and service development to support research and administrative activities.

Reporting to the ICERM Director, the Associate Director collaborates with Brown's Office of Information Technology and external IT networks.

Qualifications

Advanced degree in the sciences or engineering, or equivalent experience in a research-oriented environment.
7+ years of IT-related experience.
Proven record of successfully maintaining and running a diverse computing system in a mixed academic/administrative setting.
Experience with advanced A/V facilities and video conferencing.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Familiarity with AI concepts, including machine learning and Large Language Models.
Management experience in a research dominated environment (preferred).

Responsibilities

Oversee IT staff and operations across ICERM.
Ensure security, stability, and continuity of institute IT services.
Coordinate with Brown's Office of Information Technology and other stakeholders.
Develop long-term IT planning and resource development.
Support administrative IT, A/V equipment, and web interfaces/databases for ICERM awards.
Represent ICERM in IT committees and networks.
