Job summary

City of Sacramento is seeking an IT Manager (Information Security Officer) to lead cybersecurity strategy across the organization and ensure protection of critical systems and data. The role oversees risk assessment, incident response, and disaster recovery while advising executives and translating risk into business terms.

The position manages a major IT division, develops budgets, and guides large-scale initiatives.

Qualifications

• Six years of progressively responsible experience in information technology fields.
• Bachelor's degree as listed; professional certification may substitute for education.
• Experience in systems analysis, network administration, and project leadership is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules, directs, and coordinates the activities of a major IT division; develops long-range goals and policies.
• Develops and monitors operating and capital budgets; manages contracts and grant applications.
• Coordinates with City departments and external agencies on division projects; represents the City on committees.
• Assesses programs to identify needs, and acts as project manager for complex initiatives requiring cross-unit collaboration.
• Researches, analyzes, and recommends options for addressing difficult issues; ensures programs align with policies.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate staff; manage broader organizational initiatives.
