Job summary

UCSF Health, AG seeks an experienced advisor to manage IP rights protection, technology transfer and related agreements within the Office of Sponsored Research in San Francisco.

The role involves evaluating commercial potential, drafting MTAs/NDAs, negotiating licenses, and working with outside patent counsel to protect and license intellectual property arising from university research.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area required.
• Ability to analyze information, identify issues, and advise on appropriate mechanisms.
• Strong customer service skills in a fast-paced environment with confidentiality.
• Ability to prioritize projects and manage time effectively.
• Flexible, independent, team player with good judgment and communication.
• Experience in business development and/or contracts, including drafting and negotiating.

Responsibilities

• Advise on IP rights protection and technology transfer issues.
• Draft, negotiate, and manage MTAs and NDAs.
• Draft and negotiate licenses and terms; manage related agreements.
• Collaborate with outside patent attorneys to file patent applications.
• Support companies sponsoring research and ensure compliance with laws.
