Job summary

Aston Carter seeks an Inventory Coordinator/Production Control Coordinator in Lima, OH. This role oversees daily production control and inventory coordination to ensure parts, racks, and materials flow smoothly through manufacturing and logistics, reviewing inventory levels and prioritizing shipments to protect schedules.

The position emphasizes collaboration with scheduling, shipping teams, and maintaining accurate records in production systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing assembly and machining environments is desirable.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Safety and MP&L experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of constraint management principles.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience in production control, inventory management and logistics.
• Ability to coordinate materials and schedules across multiple customers and plants.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventories and data.

Responsibilities

• Review morning inventories to identify potential critical parts and shortages.
• Check part status for all customers and ensure accurate data in systems.
• Monitor and resolve discrepancies in parts owed to plants.
• Analyze plant needs and prepare expedites to protect production and customer requirements.
• Prioritize shipments based on criticality and demand for shared parts.
• Create shipping documents for early trucks and print pick lists.
• Coordinate with Scheduling to secure die sets and plan changeovers.
• Review rack status and daily rack inventory to address shortages.
• Enter outbound shipments into the OB L system accurately and timely.
• Check CMMS for overdue rail cars or inbound trucks and escalate as needed.
• Update lineups in CMMS to inform customers about parts in transit.
• Address cumulative (CUM) disagreements and resolutions with customers.
