Job summary

Forgent Power in Minnesota is seeking a Manager, Inventory Cost Accountant to manage inventory costing, valuation, and cost of goods sold. You will partner with Supply Chain, Manufacturing and FP&A to maintain standard costs, analyze variances, and support month-end close.

The ideal candidate has heavy cost accounting experience in manufacturing, ERP cost module expertise, and advanced Excel skills. This role requires strong GAAP knowledge and SOX control support in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting with emphasis on cost/inventory.
• Experience in manufacturing cost accounting environment.
• ERP experience with cost module configuration is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory costing for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Prepare financial reports focusing on inventory, COGS, and valuation.
• Lead month-end close; review reconciliations and journal entries.
• Maintain standard costs and perform variance analyses.
• Support SOX controls and internal/external audits.
• Assist with cost reduction initiatives and overhead rate development.
