Job summary

Forgent Power is seeking a Manager, Inventory Cost Accountant to oversee costing processes across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods. You will partner with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and FP&A to maintain standard costs, analyze variances, and support month-end close.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in cost/inventory accounting within manufacturing, a strong ERP background, and Excel expertise. CPA/CMA/CPIM is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive cost/inventory accounting experience in manufacturing.
• CPA, CMA, or CPIM certification preferred.
• Experience with ERP costing modules and system configurations.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups.
• Experience supporting SOX compliance and audits.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze variances and standard costing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting for raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and intercompany inventory.
• Prepare and analyze reports on inventory valuation, COGS, and performance.
• Lead month-end close activities with reconciliations and journal entries.
• Maintain standard costs and support variance analysis.
• Perform monthly inventory valuation, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Analyze PPV and manufacturing/labor/overhead variances.
• Coordinate physical and cycle counts and resolve discrepancies.
• Lead 3rd-party warehouse inventory reconciliation to align balances.
• Support cost allocation, overhead/burden rate calculations, and budgeting.
• Ensure SOX controls and respond to audit requests.
