Job summary

Premier Truck Rental is seeking an Inventory Planner to manage procurement of trucks, chassis, and passenger vehicles. You will analyze fleet needs, negotiate with suppliers, and coordinate orders from placement through delivery across a nationwide footprint.

Based in Fort Worth, TX, this onsite role offers base salary plus potential quarterly profit sharing after one year. You’ll work cross-functionally with operations, sales, fleet, and finance to balance availability, cost, and demand.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in automotive purchasing or equivalent.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of the automotive industry.
• Excellent negotiation skills with demonstrated success.
• Strong analytical skills to assess market trends and supplier performance.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Analyze fleet growth, order bank timing, and replacement cycles to plan purchases.
• Evaluate OEM incentives, dealer quotes, specifications, and service offerings.
• Issue purchase orders and manage the order lifecycle from placement to delivery.
• Coordinate with Fleet and Operations to move assets and manage schedules.
• Assist Premier Partners with OEM drop ship codes and processes.
• Train Premier Partners on OEM procedures and updates.
• Monitor production schedules, allocations, and delivery timelines.
• Establish and maintain relationships with manufacturers, dealers, and upfit partners.
• Resolve supplier issues including pricing discrepancies and recalls.
• Maintain procurement records and analyze data to inform decisions.
