Job summary

GHX Industrial, a SunSource company, is seeking a proactive Buyer to coordinate, report, purchase and maintain inventory across assigned locations and product categories. You will work closely with the Sales and Operations teams to meet inventory goals and budgets, while communicating with suppliers to secure optimal service levels and cost efficiency.

The role reports to the Director of Purchasing and requires strong analytical skills, a focus on inventory turns, and the ability to balance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
• 2–5 years inventory and purchasing experience in Industrial Distribution.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Maximize inventory turns and optimize working capital.
• Review stock requirements daily and procure accordingly.
• Manage stock transfers between locations to balance levels.
• Review supplier freight terms and ensure cost conformance.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
• Analyze supplier on-time delivery performance and improve shipping.
• Develop targets for excess/obsolete inventory and reduce levels.
• Communicate with branches to understand market trends.
