Job summary

GHX Industrial, a SunSource company, seeks a skilled Buyer to coordinate, purchase and manage inventory across locations and product categories. You will work with suppliers to optimize service levels, costs and inventory turns, reporting to the Director of Purchasing.

Responsibilities include reviewing stock requirements, updating replenishment settings, reducing excess inventory, negotiating with suppliers, and generating daily, weekly and monthly reports.

Qualifications

• Education – Bachelor’s degree in Business or related area.
• Experience – 2–5 years inventory and purchasing experience.
• Computer Skills – Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Maximize inventory turns and working capital.
• Review stock requirements and procure stock as needed.
• Update stock replenishment settings as required.
• Review excess and obsolete inventory and develop reduction plans.
• Negotiate with suppliers to improve margins.
• Conduct inventory cadence calls to maintain goals.
• Coordinate with locations on new item and stock requests.
• Review supplier freight programs and costs for conformance.
• Transfer stock between locations to balance stock.
• Provide daily, weekly and monthly reports on inventory status.
• Reduce and consolidate suppliers by using primary partners.
• Assist with inventory policy adherence.
