Job summary

Decca Recruiting LLC is seeking a Buyer I in Jacksonville, FL to support inventory management and procurement across assigned product categories. The role focuses on product availability, inventory accuracy, and efficient operations while maintaining excellent customer service and purchase order accuracy.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in purchasing or inventory roles, with a background in retail or distribution. Growth within a fast-paced distribution environment is available.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in purchasing, merchandising, inventory management, or related business experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; degree may offset experience.
• Experience in retail, wholesale, foodservice, or distribution is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory levels for assigned product categories to support demand.
• Review buying guides and place purchase orders with suppliers; ensure pricing accuracy.
• Monitor reports (out-of-stock, over-allocated) and act to maintain inventory levels.
• Confirm purchase orders and resolve pricing, quantities, freight, and delivery issues.
• Coordinate with vendors, finance, and logistics to ensure timely delivery and replenishment.
• Maintain item and vendor data including pricing, terms, shipping points, and product info.
• Communicate regularly with sales teams about inventory availability and updates.
• Assist with inventory initiatives to reduce spoilage and shrink and control aged stock.
• Support supplier relationships and participate in sourcing decisions and pricing discussions.
• Provide excellent internal and external customer service while meeting purchasing goals.
