Job summary

Stio is seeking a Sr. Inventory Planner to translate seasonal inventory plans into purchase orders and delivery requirements.

You will manage the Planning Buy Plan, balancing demand, on-hand inventory, and supplier capacity to ensure timely product availability. Work closely with Category Planning, Production/Sourcing, Operations and Finance to optimize inventory performance, lead times and freight efficiency while supporting forecasts and open-to-buy processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field.
• 4+ years of experience in supply/inventory planning or related function.
• Experience in apparel, footwear, outdoor, or consumer products preferred.
• Strong understanding of seasonal product lifecycles, lead times, inventory flow, and supply planning elements.
• Working knowledge of freight modes, transit times, and landed cost.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to translate findings into actions.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
• Experience with planning software (Toolio preferred).
• Ability to manage multiple seasons, deadlines and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Translate seasonal and in-season inventory plans into purchase order and supply requirements by style, color, and size.
• Create and manage purchase orders aligned with buys, inventory targets and delivery requirements.
• Own the Planning Buy Plan monthly, considering demand, on-hand inventory, open orders, lead times and vendor capacity.
• Analyze air vs ocean freight options and recommend the mode balancing availability and margin.
• Identify styles at risk and build business cases for air expedites by comparing freight cost to sales at risk.
• Communicate supply risks and propose solutions (prioritization, PO adjustments, expedites).
• Manage delivery timing to support launches, channel needs and inventory productivity.
• Partner with Category Planning to meet inventory targets and sell-through goals.
• Maintain PO, delivery and supply data in planning systems.
• Analyze inventory performance and opportunities to improve lead times and freight efficiency.
• Support forecasting, open-to-buy and inventory reviews with accurate projections.
• Collaborate with Finance to track receipts, commitments and freight costs.
• Build cross-functional relationships with Planning, Merchandising, Production/Sourcing, Operations and Finance.
