Job summary

NRG Energy seeks a Sr. Manager of Internal Communications to shape and execute enterprise-wide messaging for a large workforce. You will partner with executives to craft clear, timely communications and manage major events, video content, and internal channels, driving engagement and alignment with business goals.

You will lead strategic planning, collaborate across functions, and apply change-management best practices while maintaining confidentiality and strong stakeholder relations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in internal communications within large organizations.
• Experience partnering with executive leadership on strategic messaging.
• Proven planning, project and stakeholder management skills.
• Hands-on video production and scripting experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead internal communication strategy across the organization, ensuring alignment with priorities, culture, and leadership expectations.
• Partner with executives to develop messaging for strategies, initiatives, employee experience, and milestones.
• Produce and manage large-scale communication events, including Town Halls and national broadcasts, with scripting and run-of-show.
• Produce and edit internal video content, including leadership messages and event recaps.
• Develop and publish content for intranet, newsletters, slides, and email campaigns.
• Serve as the voice of the employee, gathering insights and suggesting improvements.
• Assist in change-management communications during organizational changes.
• Stay informed on industry trends and best practices to improve channels and storytelling.
• Collaborate across the communications team and with leaders at all levels.
