Job summary

Novartis is seeking a Director of Corporate Affairs Intelligence, Strategic Insights in East Hanover, USA. You will lead enterprise-level strategic intelligence initiatives and translate complex external dynamics into actionable executive insights, shaping decision-making at the highest levels.

Partnering with senior leaders, you will develop intelligence questions, anticipate developments, and strengthen cross-functional alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced business degree preferred.
• Extensive experience in strategic intelligence, management consulting, corporate strategy, or related fields.
• Ability to translate complex information into strategic insights and executive recommendations.
• Experience influencing senior leaders in complex, matrixed organizations.
• Strong understanding of Corporate Affairs, communications, public affairs, policy, or reputation management.
• Pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry experience with strong business and external environment acumen.
• Exceptional storytelling and communication skills; ability to simplify complex concepts.
• AI fluency and responsible application of AI-native approaches.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic intelligence initiatives informing Corporate Affairs and enterprise decisions.
• Transform complex analysis into actionable insights, implications, and recommendations for senior leaders.
• Connect external developments to business priorities, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Develop enterprise-level perspectives to shape Corporate Affairs strategy and decision-making.
• Translate priorities into intelligence questions focusing on what matters most.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to provide trusted counsel on emerging external dynamics.
• Identify intelligence gaps and anticipate developments with potential impact.
• Facilitate cross-functional alignment across business priorities and analyses.
• Strengthen intelligence capabilities, methodologies, and ways of working across the function.
• Coach and develop colleagues’ capabilities in business partnership and strategic leadership.
