Job summary

Starr seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to act as a strategic advisor within the Casualty business unit. You will deliver forward-looking financial analysis, influence decisions, and shape the unit's financial direction while tracking actual performance and forecasts.

The role emphasizes Power BI-enabled KPI tracking, strong accounting discipline, and collaboration with management across disciplines. NY/Chicago preferred, with NY as primary location.

Qualifications

• Strong finance and accounting skills with knowledge of insurance financial statements (income, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Experience with U.S. GAAP and statutory reporting preferred.
• Ability to build business cases and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Direct and develop financial analysis, insights, planning and forecasting.
• Develop a balance scorecard of KPIs using Power BI to measure BU performance.
• Ensure integrity of accounting records and internal control activities.
• Identify and expand strategic relationships and business opportunities.
• Prepare and manage business reviews from the Finance perspective for the Casualty BU.
• Provide insights to address plan gaps and support annual financial planning.
