Job summary

Starr Insurance Companies in New York seeks a Property Operations Analyst to analyze performance, develop insights, and drive process improvements across core functions. You will partner with underwriting, claims, policy administration, IT, and other teams to deliver actionable analytics and support operational excellence.

You will prepare reports, dashboards, and KPI tracking for senior leaders, conduct root-cause analysis, map processes, and help implement standardization and automation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations Management, Insurance, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in operations analysis, business analysis, or process improvement—insurance or property/casualty experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
• Experience with process mapping and documentation (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart) is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills; able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication; collaborative, self-starter with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Analyze property operations, processes, and performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior leaders with data-driven insights.
• Conduct root cause analysis on operational issues; support remediation action plans.
• Assist in developing and monitoring operational KPIs and benchmarks; participate in target setting.
• Document workflows, map processes, and identify standardization or automation opportunities.
• Support process improvement initiatives and measure outcomes; ensure data integrity with IT and data teams.
• Develop business cases for investments to improve operations; monitor regulatory and audit requirements.
