Job summary

Preferred Mutual seeks a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to deliver advanced modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. You will transform complex data into decision-ready information for the Senior Executive Team and Board.

Reporting to the SVP, CFO & Treasurer, you will lead KPI development, ensure accurate reporting, and drive modernization of the finance function with BI/AI tools. Strong leadership and insurance industry experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required.
• MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
• CPA, CFA, or FPAC designations preferred.
• Industry certifications such as AIAF and CPCU highly valued.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in Finance with FP&A or strategic finance responsibilities.
• 5+ years of leadership experience.
• Experience in Insurance or financial services is strongly preferred with strong statutory accounting knowledge.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and BI tools like Tableau/Power BI; familiarity with generative AI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust financial models to project premiums, losses, surplus, and operating performance.
• Lead forecasting process and align with strategic priorities and enterprise objectives.
• Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for senior leadership and board.
• Drive reporting modernization by implementing BI/AI tools to accelerate timelines.
• Coach and develop FP&A team and partner with other functions to translate financial data into actionable insights.
