Job summary

Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative is hiring a Director of Insurance Contracting & Relations to enhance health plan and payer contracting for RWHC Network members. This position partners with senior staff, supports contract issues, and informs advocacy efforts across the organization.

The role requires leadership, strategic negotiation, and ability to travel to meet payers and hospitals while maintaining professional credibility in the healthcare industry.

Qualifications

• Experience in health care financial consulting or management.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
• Understanding of hospital and physician practice operations and managed care.

Responsibilities

• Establish, improve and maintain provider and payer relationships.
• Manage activities of RWHC Network (commercial contracts and payers) including negotiating language templates and assisting members.
• Educate members on payer trends and issues; respond to inquiries; facilitate network meetings.
• Manage activities of RWHC LLC (Governmental Plans including Medicare and Medicaid) including agendas and negotiations.
• Advise health plans on issues important to members and respond to inquiries about Medicare Advantage.
• Oversee RCC client contracting strategy and ensure confidentiality and proper billing.
• Participate in RWHC Board meetings and SST/all-staff meetings.
• Monitor payer dynamics and collaborate with Quarles for legal review and guidance.
• Travel to meet payers, hospitals, clinics and other facilities as needed.
