Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in healthcare or contracting.
• 7+ years in healthcare with provider contract work and network contracting expertise.
• Strong negotiation, influence, and relationship management to work with executives.
• Ability to interpret network analytics, quality outcomes, claims data, and trends.
• Leadership experience in a matrixed environment and team development.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct complex provider network contract negotiations, serving as the primary strategist and decision-maker for high-value, complex provider agreements.
• Provide leadership and day-to-day management of financial and human resources, including coaching and budgeting for staff.
• Develop and drive implementation of large-scale provider network strategies for payers across markets.
• Leverage claim trends and network performance metrics to inform contracting strategies.
• Partner with stakeholders to communicate provider network contracting strategies to ensure understanding of business rationale.
• Represent Wellmark regarding contracts and payment models to external audiences.
• Drive implementation of network strategies including design, performance optimization, and data operations.
• Lead interdepartmental projects and promote process management tools.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
