Job summary

Emerson is seeking an Instructional Designer to own the Education Services learning portfolio, directing content strategy, curriculum direction, and course blueprints for assigned business units. You will collaborate with Product Management, R&D, Services, and subject matter experts to translate complex technical products into learner‑centered programs.

You will craft objectives, assessments, and modality recommendations to drive customer proficiency, product adoption, and measurable business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in Learning & Development or instructional design.
• Strong adult learning and assessment design understanding.
• Ability to translate complex products into learning requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain Education Services portfolio strategy, content roadmap, curriculum direction, learning paths, course blueprint and certification opportunities for assigned Business Units or product domains.
• Gather, analyze, and synthesize stakeholder requirements, customer feedback, product roadmaps, support trends, business initiatives, and learning data to develop portfolio recommendations and roadmap priorities.
• Design technical learning solutions and course blueprints translating complex products and workflows into effective learning experiences.
• Explore and recommend innovative learning approaches including AI-enabled learning experiences and scalable customer education models.
• Serve as primary course owner throughout content development ensuring alignment with objectives, audience needs and portfolio goals.
• Communicate recommendations, priorities, trade-offs, and readiness decisions to align stakeholders.
• Monitor portfolio health, content performance, learner feedback, and industry trends to maximize customer proficiency and business value.
