Job summary

MISO is offering a 2027 Summer Internship Program designed for students in Economics, Engineering, Data Science, Public Policy, or related fields. You’ll analyze trends, support long-term planning, and collaborate with teams to forecast grid reliability and performance.

The program runs on-site with about 40 hours per week at our Eagan, MN or Carmel, IN offices, offering housing assistance for qualified students and potential to extend to part-time remote work during the school year.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Economics, Engineering, Data Science, Public Policy, or a related degree.
• Strong critical thinking, research ability, and interest in strategy or risk assessment.
• Familiarity with data visualization and analytical tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze trends, load growth patterns, and emerging risks to support long-term planning.
• Refine data inputs, compare regional trends, and build meaningful takeaways for decisions.
• Contribute to forecasting and strategic analysis projects for grid reliability.
• Attend community events, intern socials, networking, and development programming.
• Deliver a final presentation summarizing project work, recommendations, and impact.
