Job summary

ButcherBox is seeking an Associate Director of Strategic Insights and Analytics in Watertown, MA. You will lead a team of analysts and partner with senior leaders to translate complex data into actionable strategies that drive performance and future growth.

This player-coach role blends hands-on analytics with strategic leadership, delivering proactive insights and executive-ready recommendations across the organization in a hybrid, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in analytics, strategy, consulting, finance, or related field with progression into senior-level responsibility.
• Proven ability to operate as both a strategic individual contributor and people leader.
• Strong technical skills across analytics and data tooling (Databricks SQL, Power BI or similar).
• Exceptional ability to synthesize complex information into executive-ready insights.
• Strong business acumen including P&L literacy and ecommerce fluency.
• Experience influencing senior leaders in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Own the development of forward-looking, proactive insights identifying risks and opportunities across the business.
• Lead work that synthesizes performance, customer behavior, competitive dynamics, and macro signals.
• Develop and monitor leading indicators and ensure insights inform decisions.
• Frame ambiguous questions and guide hypothesis-driven analysis to recommendations.
• Mentor and coach a team of analysts responsible for depth analyses and cross-functional support.
• Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to align definitions, metrics, and insights.
