Job summary

HellermannTyton is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead high-risk plastic injection molding initiatives and troubleshoot ongoing projects. You will collaborate across engineering, product development, and manufacturing to deliver on time, within scope and budget while optimizing OEE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Plastics, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
• 7+ years of engineering experience in plastic injection molding manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience managing capital projects and leading cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Advanced Molding Group Steering Committee. Review systems and processes with the rest of the SteerCo looking for OFI (opportunities for improvement).
• Technical expertise: Provide consultation on part design, materials, mold design, tooling specifications, processing, and manufacturing feasibility. Use skills to anticipate and avoid issues.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Work with project managers, product development engineers, tooling engineers, process engineers, automation, quality, and others to ensure success.
• Quoting assistance. Support product management to develop quotes for complex injection molding.
• Continuous improvement: Identify initiatives to improve systems, processes, and workflow efficiency.
• Troubleshooting: Support manufacturing by troubleshooting product problems as assigned.
• Support validation, testing, and documentation of new or modified processes and systems.
• Ensure all project activities comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve OEE and reduce the price of non-conformance / cost of poor quality.
