Job summary

Kean University seeks a Managing Assistant Director of Strategic Initiatives to lead program development and support within the Strategic and Global Initiatives division. Under the Vice President, this role oversees administrative and operational affairs, conducts research, prepares papers, and supports new programming across multiple campuses and international activities.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree with two years of relevant experience; a master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; two years of relevant professional experience.
• Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Education or related field preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional projects from planning through implementation and evaluation.
• Excellent project management, organizational, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other technology used for project management, data analysis, reporting and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead initiatives that promote the division’s mission and values.
• Oversee partnerships with external organizations and manage operations for pre-college programs.
• Conduct research, prepare papers and proposals, and support new programming across the division.
• Support Chancellor’s office operations related to the Wenzhou-Kean University location and international delegation planning and travel.
• Maintain flexible scheduling, including evening and weekend hours; travel may be required.
