Job summary

California State University, Sacramento seeks a Strategic Initiative Specialist to lead administrative coordination at the Center for California Studies and support the Capital Fellows Programs with analytical and systems expertise.

The incumbent will manage projects, events, alumni engagement, database and website management, fundraising, and assist with editing and publication of the California Journal of Politics and Policy.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in developing and managing communication including for alumni relations and organization communications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse environment across multiple platforms.
• Expertise in data analysis, survey techniques and data management, with the ability to interpret and evaluate data to develop conclusions and inform policy decisions.
• Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved.
• Ability to work as a part of a team, with strong self-management and collaborations skills.
• Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction.
• Proficiency in relevant technology and software, including MS Office (particularly Excel and Access), communications tolls such as MailChimp and Microsoft Outlook, and website administrations tool such as Cascade.
• Ability to articulate and implement program objectives in alignment with university diversity and equity goals, with excellent interpersonal and diplomatic communications skills.
• Experience with communications, including management of social media, websites and event outreach.
• Commitment to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive work environment with diverse colleagues and constituents including faculty, students, staff, and members of the community
