Job summary

University of Houston System in Houston seeks a leader to direct volunteer engagement and initiatives within the Strategic Initiatives department. You will partner with leadership, donors and executives to design and execute programmatic opportunities that advance university priorities.

You will develop budgets, monitor grants, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with university policies while representing the university publicly and cultivating key relationships.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4-year degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum three years of program management or volunteer engagement experience.
• Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills.
• Experience coordinating with executives, donors and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate volunteer engagement initiatives aligned with university priorities.
• Develop and manage a portfolio of internal and external relationships with executives and donors.
• Collaborate with Development to implement volunteer participation strategies.
• Prepare proposals for grants and monitor program budgets.
• Provide guidance on best practices for volunteer opportunities.
• Represent the university to volunteers and partners.
• Ensure compliance with security checks and equal opportunity policies.
