The position oversees the Infection Prevention and Control Program with 24-hour responsibility and collaborates with the Associate Administrator of Quality and Patient Safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Master's in Public Health or Healthcare Administration required if not RN.
• 5 years nursing or related healthcare or public health experience.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Knowledge of computer applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Registered Nurse (CA DCA) or Master’s in Public Health/Healthcare Administration if not RN.
• Certified in Infection Control (CIC) - obtain within 1 year if not on hire.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a safety culture and applies evidence-based medicine to infection prevention.
• Analyzes trends from adverse events and hospital-acquired infections (HAIs).
• Supports education programs in infection prevention for staff.
• Leads program development, planning, implementation, assessment and performance improvement for HAIs.
• Has 24-hour responsibility for infection prevention program operations and data reporting.
