Job summary

University Health is seeking an Infection Preventionist Manager to lead a system-wide infection prevention program across hospitals and ambulatory sites. You will work with the Director of Infection Control & Prevention to drive strategic initiatives, mentor a team, and advance patient safety through evidence-based practices.

The role requires a BSN, 5+ years in infection prevention, and 3+ years in leadership, with CIC certification and Texas RN licensure as applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Minimum 5 years of infection prevention experience in a hospital setting.
• At least 3 years of recent acute care infection prevention leadership or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Director to develop and implement strategic infection prevention initiatives across the health system.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of infection prevention professionals.
• Monitor, evaluate, and improve infection prevention policies in compliance with CDC, APIC, and regulatory standards.
• Analyze and report infection control data to improve patient outcomes and financial performance.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in outbreak response, surveillance, and program development.
• Foster collaboration across departments and cultivate a culture of safety, accountability, and innovation.
