Job summary

McKenzie Valve & Machining is seeking a seasoned Buyer to lead end-to-end procurement for production materials, maintenance supplies, and contracted services at our McKenzie, TN facility. You will source, negotiate, and purchase items such as castings and valve components to meet production needs.

Collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Inventory teams, you’ll apply Lean principles and use ERP systems to drive supplier performance, BOM accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, supply chain, or related field.
• 5+ years of industrial purchasing experience with ERP-driven processes.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement for production materials, maintenance supplies, and contracted services.
• Source, quote, negotiate, and purchase materials including castings and valve components.
• Forecast, schedule, expedite, and monitor material requirements to support production.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve lowest total cost.
• Maintain supplier relationships and ensure reliable performance and compliance.
• Issue purchase orders and maintain purchasing records and metrics.
• Support Lean initiatives and ERP-driven procurement practices.
