Job summary

TRUMPF Inc. in Farmington, CT is seeking a Strategic Category Buyer for Indirect Procurement to lead multi-year sourcing plans across USMCA subsidiaries and collaborate with Logistics, Finance and Operations.

The role demands 3–5 years in purchasing within an industrial setting, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and experience with SAP and MS Office to drive cost savings and supplier performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Three to five years in purchasing, supply chain, procurement or project management in an industrial environment.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation and problem-solving skills under pressure.
• Experience with SAP, lean manufacturing, and understanding of cost breakdowns preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
• MBA or certifications (CSCP/CPIM, CPSM, SCPro) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage multi-year strategic sourcing plans for indirect spend categories.
• Lead all phases of sourcing and negotiation, including RFx and complex contracts.
• Establish and manage supplier relationships with regular performance reviews.
• Partner with Logistics, Finance, HR, Operations, Facilities to align strategy and execution.
• Identify cost-reduction and working capital opportunities using TCO principles.
• Develop new operating models with suppliers and manage change across the organization.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and ensure ICS compliance.
