Job summary

DRiV in Skokie, IL, seeks an Indirect Commodity Buyer to lead strategic sourcing, cost management, and supplier performance for indirect categories across North American operations. You will drive cost optimization, supplier innovation, risk mitigation, and ensure compliance with procurement standards, collaborating with global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.
• 5+ years automotive procurement experience, indirect preferred.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing operations.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and sourcing tools.
• CapEx procurement knowledge preferred.
• Proven data manipulation skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Able to lead supplier invoice dispute resolution.
• Fluent English communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned indirect commodities.
• Conduct RFQs, RFPs, and reverse auctions per global framework.
• Lead competitive bidding and negotiate pricing and terms.
• Identify dual-source strategies to mitigate risk.
• Support CapEx procurement aligned with plant expansion.
• Track savings with validated reporting processes.
• Evaluate supplier performance using KPIs and lead QBRs.
• Ensure ESG, safety, and quality compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering, finance, and plant operations.
• Support ERP procurement processes and governance.
