Job summary

Meow Wolf in Santa Fe, NM seeks an Assistant General Counsel to join its legal team, reporting to the General Counsel. The role provides expert guidance on commercial matters across licensing, IP, data privacy and governance, supporting growth across platforms and internationally.

The position requires a JD, active bar membership and at least 15 years of legal experience, including 10 years in-house at a media company. On-site or remote work options apply, with a base salary range disclosed.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
• Minimum 15 years legal experience, including at least 10 years in-house at a media company.
• Broad knowledge across IP, real estate, construction, governance, data privacy, licensing and contracts.
• Exceptional drafting and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate succinctly across many levels and departments.
• Strong ethics, gravitas, and risk assessment abilities.

Responsibilities

• Offer legal and strategic advice across IP, real estate, construction, entertainment agreements and litigation.
• Draft, review and negotiate bespoke contracts and policies.
• Provide actionable business-facing legal advice and build cross-department relationships.
• Advise on employee and labor relations for local exhibitions; oversee licenses and compliance.
• Respond to due diligence and discovery requests; manage external counsel in litigation.
• Develop and refine legal processes, templates and policies as the company scales.
