Job summary

SouthernCarlson, Inc. is seeking an Import Buyer in Phoenix, AZ to manage purchase orders, monitor inventory, and coordinate with suppliers to optimize costs and delivery performance.

The role requires strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to sourcing and replenishment. You will collaborate with merchandising and distribution teams to ensure accurate stock levels and timely purchases, while maintaining supplier relationships and adhering to purchasing procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of purchasing experience for a distribution organization.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Research and issue general merchandise purchase orders for assigned brands and divisions.
• Track and maintain purchase orders including lead times, delivery dates, and costs.
• Prepare and review purchase requisitions.
• Review replenishment reports and replenish inventory.
• Monitor inventory levels and stocking levels.
• Coordinate real-time product delivery status with distribution centers and stores.
• Prepare and maintain purchasing reports (spend analysis, over/under stocked items, vendor fill rates).
• Collaborate with suppliers to support supply chain and resolve delivery/quality issues.
