Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to support the Consumer Device team in San Francisco. You will partner with senior leaders, coaches, and managers to design effective organizations and enable teams to perform at their best.

You will blend strategic advisory work with hands-on collaboration, shaping people practices, leadership development, and scalable programs while navigating complex organizational changes. This is an individual contributor role based in the SF office.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of HRBP experience in hardware, engineering, or similarly technical environments.
• Ability to understand and support cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams.
• Strategic advisor with the ability to guide leaders through trade-offs and adapt to evolving circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Shape high-performing, resilient teams by partnering with leaders on organizational design, talent planning, and ways of working.
• Advise with context and judgment; provide thoughtful guidance on people, leadership, and organizational matters.
• Collaborate across OpenAI with HRBPs, People centers of excellence, and cross-functional partners to build a cohesive employee experience rooted in humanity and impact.
• Evolve people programs by strengthening performance, engagement, and development in scalable ways.
• Guide and develop managers with candid, actionable feedback to build leadership capabilities.
• Anticipate and solve problems by diagnosing root causes and delivering durable solutions as priorities evolve.
• Lead meaningful change by navigating organizational shifts with empathy and rigor.
