Job summary

The Mexican American Opportunity Foundation is seeking an HR Specialist to oversee HR functions such as recruitment, employee relations, and compliance. This role supports the MAOF Head Start Program in Los Angeles County and collaborates across departments to foster a positive workplace culture.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field and at least two years of HR experience. Benefits include medical insurance, Paid Time Off, and a 403(b) Retirement Plan with employer match.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a comparable HR role.
• Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with integrity.
• Strong multitasking abilities with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full–cycle recruitment process, including interviews and onboarding.
• Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns under the supervision of the CHRO.
• Support the administration of employee benefits programs.

Bilingual in English and Spanish

Proficient in HRIS software

Strong interpersonal skills

Knowledge of employment laws

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
