Job summary

The Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) seeks a Human Resource and Payroll Specialist to support payroll, benefits, onboarding and HRIS tasks. This on-site role partners with the HR team to ensure compliance and timely processing while upholding OMCA’s values and mission.

Applicants should have 3–5 years in HR, payroll and benefits administration, knowledge of ADP and HRIS systems, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years related experience in HR, Benefits and Payroll administration.
• A.A. or B.A. in related field and/or PHR Certification preferred.
• English language proficiency in both spoken and written form.

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll processing and compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Administer benefits enrollment, COBRA, and pre-tax reimb. programs.
• Coordinate onboarding, background checks, and offboarding processes.
• Maintain HR records and HRIS data; ensure accurate records.
• Support recruitment, employee relations, and training initiatives.
