Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to support West Coast operations from Seattle. This contract-to-hire role demands hands-on HR expertise, strong employee relations, and the ability to advise managers while handling day-to-day HR matters with independence.

You will collaborate with recruiting, payroll, and benefits to ensure a positive employee experience across multiple locations, with four days onsite.

Qualifications

• Progressive HR experience, ideally in an HRBP or Senior Generalist role.
• Strong employee relations and problem-solving capabilities.
• Working knowledge of state employment laws and HR compliance.
• Experience supporting both hourly and salaried staff.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and managers across locations.
• Guide employee relations, policies, and performance management.
• Independently address routine HR issues and escalate complex matters.
• Build relationships with operational teams and senior leadership.
• Support compliance with federal/state regulations, especially WA/CA.
• Assist HR administration, onboarding, background checks, and offers.
• Collaborate with recruiting, payroll, and benefits to ensure positive employee experience.
• Maintain accurate HR data and reporting; leverage HR systems and Excel.
