Job summary

Johnson County Government is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to collaborate with HR teams and DAO leadership. The HRBP will translate strategic priorities into practical people strategies and support organizational effectiveness across the portfolio.

The role emphasizes consultation, workforce planning, and policy compliance, with an emphasis on collaboration with COEs to deliver consistent HR services and advisory support to agency leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field; master’s preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of progressive HR experience including consultation to managers or leadership.
• Professional HR Certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Provide consultative HR guidance to DAO managers and leadership, assess organizational needs, and connect employees with HR COEs for services.
• Collaborate with Centers of Excellence and DAOs to ensure consistent HR services across employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, classification and compensation, and compliance.
• Serve as primary HR contact for DAO leadership, offering recommendations on people strategies and workforce planning.
• Assist in workforce planning and leadership development initiatives to drive organizational effectiveness.
• Support changes by advising leaders on workforce impacts and policy updates.
