Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to provide comprehensive HR advisory services to employees and leaders across campus. This role partners with department leadership to implement HR strategies that align with institutional goals.

The position covers policies, employment law, and best practices across core HR functions, with hybrid work arrangements and a focus on collaboration, employee relations, and workforce planning.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of professional experience in human resources disciplines.
• Ability to interpret and apply HR policies, laws, and guidelines.
• Strong consultation and advisory skills for leaders and staff.

Responsibilities

• Act as a consultative HR resource and liaison for leadership and employees.
• Advise on policies, procedures, and HR options aligned with organizational goals.
• Process complex HR transactions and programs per established protocols.
• Audit HR reports for compliance with policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement processes for HR functions like training, recruitment, compensation, and payroll.
• Assist with inquiries via in-person, email, and other channels.
