Job summary

Idaho Department of Education is seeking a seasoned HR Generalist to manage day-to-day human resources functions including employee relations, leave administration, recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and benefits support. This role collaborates with leadership to interpret laws, implement policies, and ensure accurate HRIS data and compliance.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in HR or related field or equivalent experience, with a strong track record in employee relations and performance

Qualifications

• Experience managing employee relations and resolving workplace concerns.
• Experience advising supervisors on performance expectations and coaching.
• Experience coordinating FMLA and leave administration.
• Experience recruiting, posting vacancies, onboarding and offboarding.
• Experience processing payroll changes and resolving payroll questions.
• Experience developing and delivering HR training and programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary day-to-day HR contact for employees and supervisors.
• Administer leave programs, including FMLA, and explain requirements.
• Coordinate reasonable accommodations and maintain confidential records.
• Provide employee relations support and assist in conflict resolution.
• Guide performance management, including appraisals and corrective actions.
• Administer recruitment, postings, interviews, and onboarding with IT coordination.
• Process payroll actions, ensure deadlines, and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain employee files and HR data in HRIS with accuracy.
• Explain HR policies and ensure compliance with laws and procedures.
• Deliver HR training and informational materials to staff.
