Job summary

The College of Computing & Artificial Intelligence Human Resources team at the University of Wisconsin–Madison seeks a collaborative HR Manager to develop and implement talent strategies and programs that strengthen organizational effectiveness and improve the employee experience. You will manage compensation, talent development, recruitment, performance management, and workforce relations.

Working with the HR Associate Director and colleagues, you will translate priorities into practical HR

Qualifications

• Experience developing, implementing, administering, and/or evaluating HR programs, policies, and processes.
• Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, such as compensation, recruitment and selection, talent development, performance management, and employee relations.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines consistently while exercising sound judgment in complex or sensitive situations.
• Strong organizational or project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service, continuous improvement, and the development of effective, equitable, and employee-centered HR practices.

Responsibilities

• Monitors programs and practices to ensure compliance with human resources laws, regulations, and institutional policies
• Identifies, designs, implements, and monitors Human Resources and staff training programs consistent with strategic objectives and initiatives
• Serves as subject matter expert to support unit managers' alignment of business needs and human resources strategy
• Directs and manages unit operational functions and/or staff
• Identifies, proposes, implements, and interprets employment policies and practices for stakeholders, and provides recommendations for changes
